SKIN HYDRATION TIPS
Hydrated skin is skin that not only glows and looks smooth and plump but is often functioning at an optimal level for skin health. Hydration is also key to ensure the skin can protect itself as well as withstand more advanced skin treatments such as peels and lasers.
Dehydrated skin is similar but different to dry skin and when choosing the correct product, it’s good to have a better understanding of the differences.
DRY Vs DEHYDRATED
DRY SKIN SYMPTOMS
This is due to the oil in the skin being out of balance as the skin is not producing enough.
Basically, general discomfort is a major sign of dryness. The worst areas are typically near the eyebrows and around the corners of the nose and mouth.
DEHYDRATED SKIN SYMPTOMS
- The appearance of fine lines & wrinkles (crepey skin)
- Prominent dark circles and shadows under the eyes
- Dull looking skin
- Puffy eyes
This is due to a depletion of water reserves in the skin.
You can typically tell if your skin is dehydrated if you pinch one of your cheeks and it wrinkles with gentle pressure instead of holding its shape
