DERMAFRAC
Micro-Needling + Serum Infusion + LED No Pain ~ No Anaesthetic ~ No Downtime
Skin Micro-Needling with Collagen Induction Therapy
Skin Rejuvenation and Repair by Skin Specialists
DermaFrac is an exciting new Micro-Needling Serum Infusion Therapy treatment that combines Crystal Free Microdermabrasion, Micro Channelling, Deep Tissue Serum Infusion and Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Light Phototherapy. We offer a variety of Dermafrac Treatment options that are designed to improve the appearance of the skin.
The DermaFrac Micro-Needling Serum Infusion Therapy is an advanced aesthetic treatment used to target many skin concerns including the inevitable signs of aging, those being fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, brown spots and pigmentation, open pores, congested skin, mild acne scarring, and dry and dehydrated skin.
DermaFrac is a breakthrough new skin rejuvenating treatment that delivers infusions of active serums to your skin through thousands of micro-channels created during the treatment, with no pain and no downtime. Unlike other treatments where the serums are merely placed on the surface of the skin, DermaFrac micro-needling allows an infusion of serums directly into the skin delivering to the Dermal – Epidermal Junction (DE), where they have maximum effect.
Before undertaking your first DermaFrac Micro-Needling we will require you to undertake a Skin Consultation with our highly trained Skin Specialist so as to identify all underlying conditions and/or damage to your skin. All consultations and treatments are conducted in our well equipped, safe, private, comfortable and stylish clinic where our Skin Specialists are able to answer any questions or concerns you may have. The cost of the Skin Consultation is a once only cost and all subsequent MoreMe Skin Analysis examinations are free of charge.
During the consultation, a detailed assessment will be conducted with high tech photo images recorded detailing your skin condition and identifying any underlying contraindications to treatment. A personal program will be developed to suit your skin requirements. Following the consultation, you will be able to immediately start your course of prescribed treatments. Each time you visit you will have your skin cleansed and examined, your treatment and your home products will be reviewed and changes made if required. As you use these products and as your skin changes, the products will need to change to suit your new skin, so we recommend that you contact the clinic whenever a product is finished.
The number of DermaFrac Micro-Needling Treatments required to obtain optimal results varies, being very much dependent on the skin condition being treated as well as the severity, but typically 4 – 6 treatments are advised and usually at about two-week intervals, however, a treatment regimen will be tailored to your particular skin condition, lifestyle and budget during your consultation. We often advise on a combination of treatments such as LED Light Phototherapy and/or IPL Laser and sometimes alternate treatments with other modalities such as microdermabrasion or chemical skin peels.

What is involved in a DERMAFRAC Micro-Needling treatment?
Prepare the skin with crystal free microdermabrasion (optional treatment based on skin condition – excessive exfoliation can be damaging and is often unnecessary – your Skin Specialist will advise you if microdermabrasion will be beneficial or detrimental based on your current skin condition)
Microdermabrasion is carried out using the CACI crystal free microdermabrasion system. Dependent upon the condition and thickness of your skin, our Skin Aesthetician will select either a fine, medium or coarse disposable titanium abrader to prepare your skin.
When undertaking a series of DermaFrac treatments, the microdermabrasion process will most likely only be needed on your first treatment – our Skin Specialist will advise you on best practice, as continued and regular microdermabrasions can aggressively damage the epidermis and therefore should only be administered by a qualified operator and only when it will be most beneficial.
With the skin abraded, your Aesthetician will prepare the treatment area for serum infusion with sterile alcohol to ensure any skin particles remaining after the microdermabrasion are completely removed, followed by a gentle cleanser before removing all traces with warm water.
Deliver pharmacy grade active topical serums, peptides, vitamins and anti-oxidants, direct to the area just below the dermal – epidermal (DE) junction of skin tissue using a calibrated sterile and disposable micro-channelling roller.
The DermaFrac Infusion Wand is prepared by attaching a sterile disposable surgical roller cartridge direct from its packaging, and the selected serum infusion solution cartridge is also inserted behind the roller cartridge. Both cartridges are single use only for hygiene purposes, and are safely disposed of immediately your treatment is completed, whilst the DermaFrac wand is cleansed after every use using hospital grade microbiological disinfectant, so that cross contamination is avoided.
DermaFrac works by lightly stimulating the dermal layers using a roller containing hundreds of tiny surgical steel needles, creating micro-channels in the skin. As the carefully calibrated hand-piece is being rolled across your skin’s surface, a vacuum gently draws the skin upwards and away from nerve endings, into contact with hundreds of micro-needles that painlessly penetrate through the epidermis and into the upper dermis (papillary dermis) increasing collagen and fibroblast activity. The micro-channels created act as pathways for the delivery of the serums to the all important upper dermis.
As your skin comes into contact with the needles, the serum infusion cartridge simultaneously and continuously dispenses its pharmaceutical contents, coating each needle with serum as they gently create their micro-channels, ensuring the serum is delivered directly to the dermal – epidermal junction (DE) through the micro-channels where it is most needed and can best perform its magic in skin rejuvenation (see diagram below – How DermaFrac works).
By using the vacuum to draw the skin away from the nerve endings, each area of your skin comes into contact with the roller, however, the pain usually associated with a skin needling treatment is minimised, in fact it is often not felt at all. This ensures no pain and no bleeding – a definite perk for those with sensitive skin. Many clients liken the serum infusion experience to that of being massaged by a tiny spiky ball at worst. So, whilst needles running across your face sounds scary, they only penetrate the skin at a depth of 0.25mm (and for some of us, before you grab for a calculator or fire up the internet, in old school speak 0.25mm equates to 9/1000’s of an inch) – the needles have been carefully selected so that the channels created are just below the dermal-epidermal junction and just above the capillaries and nerve endings. The use of the vacuum and serum coated roller allows up to 80 percent more nutrients than other treatment methods to effectively penetrate the skin, improving your results.
The use of the roller also triggers the process of neovascularization and neocollagenesis, the identical process that occurs with skin needling, which will cause improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size and stretch marks.
LED Phototherapy or LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive skin treatment which increases the body’s natural repair process by harnessing the power of light. The light stimulates the cells into producing more energy, helping the cells to work more effectively to heal and repair the body. Phototherapy is clinically proven to improve skin health and reduce signs of ageing. At NASCENT we perform the LED Phototherapy using a Medical Grade LED System to apply either Red LED or Near Infra Red LED to the skin to achieve the ultimate skin repair and rejuvenation.
Whilst the micro-channelling process was gentle, the procedure of puncturing the skin to create a controlled injury is still a form of trauma, and the addition to your treatment of a Societe™ Peptide Mask applied using LED Phototherapy to enhance skin repair whilst calming and soothing the treatment area is something special.
The Peptide Mask has been specifically developed for cosmetic use to calm and moisturise the skin after micro-needling, surgical procedures, post injection, and/or any ablative treatments. The mask contents are a unique formulation of peptides, plant based stem cells and great anti-aging ingredients, which help skin rejuvenation.
The Peptide Gel Sheets incorporate an innovative technology called TCD (Transdermal Cosmeceutical Delivery), which ensures that their key ingredients are activated by skin temperature and this is where the addition of LED Phototherapy to apply the mask ensures RAPID HEALING and REJUVENATION through both the contents of the mask and the healing properties of LED itself.
There are five (5) pharmacy grade serums available, each one addressing different skin issues. The serums are scientifically engineered and manufactured in a FDA (Federal Drug Administration – USA) registered facility, which maintains strict pharmaceutical-level production guidelines to ensure quality and integrity within each finished product.
Our Skin Specialist will conduct a Skin Examination and Consultation with you before customising a treatment plan specifically for your skin and any skin disorders. You might note with most of the treatment results, that almost all series of treatments begin with one (1) or more HYDRATION Serum DermaFrac™ Treatments. The Hydration serum allows us to best prepare your skin and barrier function for future treatment serums and ensures Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL or TWL) will be at a minimum. This is particularly important when the treatment serums we will be using to address acne, sun damage, pigmentation and environmental stresses contain Kojic, Salicylic or Lactic Acids, as these specific ingredients can dry the skin.
DermaFrac™ addresses the natural health and texture of the skin with little discomfort and no downtime, and is the preferred option for patients who do not want to go down the route of having Botox wrinkle-relaxing injections or dermal fillers that only temporarily relax the muscles and wrinkles.
More effective than fractional laser or chemical peel treatments, DermaFrac™ treatments are a pain-free, no downtime treatment that can be administered by our aesthetician without applying anaesthetic to the treatment area, and at a significantly lower cost than other skin rejuvenation procedures such as Fraxel Laser.
Whilst you may know your microdermabrasion from your facials, vitamin infusions from injections or topical applications of nano serums and LED Phototherapy from skin rejuvenation treatments, this NEW state of the art device offers the benefits of all three and ALL in the ONE TREATMENT.
DermaFrac™ is a unique new microneedling system which creates precisely calibrated micro-channels into the skin while simultaneously infusing active topical agents. The depth of the sterile needles is designed to create micro-channels which penetrate just below the outer layers of the skin but just above the capillaries and nerve endings. The result is a skin rejuvenation procedure that has no bleeding and typically no pain while enabling enhanced infusion of the topically applied agents. Some transient redness may occur and this corresponds with the intensity of the treatment, but typically DermaFrac is a no down-time procedure.
The DermaFrac handpiece contains a roller which houses 180 superfine surgical needles to stimulate collagen production and cell renewal, helping to plump, firm and smooth the skin. DermaFrac utilises a vacuum to maintain tension on the skin, drawing the skin upwards as the needles roll across the skin surface, so that the microneedles penetrate to a uniform and proper depth, creating pathways for the various active solutions to travel through. As the roller creates the micro channels in your skin, the DermaFrac system simultaneously enables the infusion of a potent serum to boost the impact of the needling treatment; that’s the important bit really – the serum gets to the area it is needed – allowing infusion of serums directly into the skin delivering to the Dermal – Epidermal Junction (DE), where they have maximum effect.
The active ingredients are delivered from special cartridges that are loaded in the microneedling handpiece. A choice of solutions are available which infuse anti-aging peptides, skin pigment lighteners, hyaluronic HA moisturizers, acne therapy solutions and more which have been designed to take advantage of the microchannels and which help to rejuvenate the skin in a gentle but effective manner.
This effectively leaves your skin with a glowing complexion and instant results; you can apply mineral makeup immediately, and then sit back and feel and see your skin improve daily.
Ideally we recommend six (6) treatments 2 – 4 weeks apart; add in a clinical facial between for magic results! There are special price packages for 3 and 6 – and you will see results in just 1 session, so that’s OK too.
Some very sensitive skin types may not tolerate all components of a DermaFrac treatment well, and a different, more gentle treatment may be indicated for you. However, there are multiple components to a full DermaFrac treatment, and you may find that you are able to tolerate a modified procedure.
Please discuss your treatment goals and any skin sensitivities with our Skin Specialist during your initial consultation, and we can tailor a treatment plan for you.
Your Skin Analysis and Consultation will take up to 30 mins and is an integral step in achieving your desired skin and beauty outcomes.
A thorough consultation, initial photographs to track your progress and facial cleanse will be conducted. Your consultation assesses your skin including a complete history and your current product regime review.
Your face will be cleansed for deep analysis of your skin using touch, natural light assessment and using a woods lamp or skin scope to reveal conditions hidden to the naked eye.
The categories of your skin assessment include, but are not limited to, texture, tone, pores, pigmentation, oiliness, breakouts, acne, congestion, dryness, redness, ageing, volume, thickened skin, dehydration, dark spots, sun damage and more.
Our Skin Specialist will discuss with you your skin condition and assess your concerns and goals. They will tailor an individual skin care plan to suit your needs which can include at home skin treatment regimes, in clinic treatment plans and pricing breakdowns.
Any recommended skin care products are available in our clinic or our online store.
Generally a treatment of Fractional Infusion Therapy and Peptide Mask with LED will take 45 mins. The addition of microdermabrasion will make treatments about 60 mins in length.
The Ultimate Package of a CACI Non Surgical Facelift + DermaFrac + Peptide Mask with LED will take between 90-120 mins.
Our Skin Specialist will discuss this with you at your consultation and remind you again after each DermaFrac treatment. We recommend avoiding the use of any exfoliative or active ingredient skin care products for three (3) days pre treatment and three (3) days post treatment, products such as retinol, lactic acid, salicylic acid, glycolic acid etc. Our Skin Specialist can confirm if any products you are using should be avoided.
Whilst undergoing a course of DermaFrac treatments it is extremely important to sun protect on a daily basis, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, fifteen (15) mins maximum. For optimal results we recommend you follow a daily skin care regime alongside your course of treatments. Our Skin Specialist will tailor a skin care treatment plan to suit your individual needs.
No. You may return to your normal activities immediately following the procedure. If you so desire, you may reapply your makeup immediately after the procedure. You may experience some slightly red areas, which should fade quickly. The degree of redness is somewhat related to the intensity of the procedure and also your skin’s own sensitivity.
The DermaFrac is the Rolls Royce of treatments which we advocate for almost everyone: it solves so many problems! However, between DermaFrac treatments we advise coming in for Facials or IPL Laser Skin Rejuvenation or LED Light Phototherapy sessions.
These additional treatments are able to target specific problems such as acne or pigmentation, which may accelerate the healing and rejuvenation process and lead to faster, longer lasting results and will help you reach your skin goals faster. Each time you visit our clinic our Skin Specialists will examine your skin and progress, and the most appropriate treatment will be suggested to you.
